Kind Reminder – Pool Umbrellas

We’ve had several evenings recently where the pool umbrellas were left open, including one that remained open during a storm.

This creates safety concerns and can damage the umbrellas. Please be mindful when using the pool area. Close and wrap umbrellas when you’re finished so they stay in good condition for everyone.

If umbrellas continue to be left open, as they were this evening, they will be placed back into storage to prevent damage.

Thank you for helping keep our shared space safe and well‑maintained.

Fence Line Power Washing – April 29th

Day by Day will be power washing the fence line along Bassett Road and State Road 9 on or around April 29th.

Power washing will take place during the late afternoon/evening hours and may extend over multiple days all weather permitting.

If you have pets, please be mindful of the activity during this time.

2026 Trotters Chase Annual Meeting – Thursday, March 12th

Please mark your calendars for the Trotters Chase Annual Meeting of the Members, to be held on Thursday, March 12.

The official mailed notice and supporting documents will be sent separately.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for sign-in, and the meeting will be called to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse.

Agenda items will include a review of the 2025 financials, the proposed 2026 budget, elections for the Board of Directors, and discussion regarding the future of the neighborhood pool.

For residents unable to attend, proxy forms will be provided. Residents may sign and submit one proxy per household by mail or email to:

2025 Fall Trial Mows

Next week, October 12 – 18, Strypes (our new full-service landscaping vendor) will start their first trial mow for the grounds.

Please reach out to any TCHOA board member if anything needs to be addressed. Our goal is to get all the trial and error out of the way before spring 2026.

A kind reminder that today (9/1/25) is the last day the pool will be open.

Advanced Pool Care will no longer be treating, cleaning, or testing after this morning.

We look forward to additional upgrades in 2026, and hope you had a great pool season!

Healing Hustle – September 27th

Hello Trotters Chase Residents!
Please be aware that the Healing Hustle, a fundraising walk/run will take place on September 27. The course runs through part of the Trotters Chase neighborhood. Participants will probably hit the neighborhood around 9:10 am and will likely be out by 10:00 other than a few walkers with strollers. The organizers are eager to let our neighborhood know about the event so that no one is surprised that morning. There will probably be about 100 participants, so it will all be over quickly with a minimum of disruption in the neighborhood. No need to interrupt your plans that morning if you plan to go out. Just keep your eyes peeled for pedestrians.
In the meantime, it might be fun to have a Trotters Chase team walking or running or both!  This event helps patients at the MHP Wound Center who are having trouble paying for expenses for their care. These are generally things not covered by insurance, like gas to get to and from their appointments or for specialized bandages, even nutritional supplements that aid in healing!  These things can make a huge difference to patients with wounds that will not heal, giving them a better opportunity to return to healthy, normal life. A link is provided below that will take you straight to the registration page. There is also a flyer attached with more details. With MHP as our nearby neighbor, it would be great to show some support. This is a well run event for a great cause. Hope to see you there!

Fireworks Ordinance Notice – City of Shelbyville

FIREWORKS ORDINANCE NOTICE: KNOW THE RULES BEFORE YOU CELEBRATE

As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, the City of Shelbyville reminds all residents and visitors to follow local and state laws regarding the use of consumer fireworks.

Per Shelbyville City Ordinance § 91.125 and Indiana Code 22-11-14-10.5, consumer fireworks are only permitted within city limits during the following dates and times:

Permitted Fireworks Use Dates and Times:

* June 29 – July 3 and July 5 – July 9: 5:00 PM until two hours after sunset
* July 4 (Independence Day): 10:00 AM until 12:00 Midnight
* December 31 (New Year’s Eve): 10:00 AM until 1:00 AM on January 1

Fireworks used outside these designated periods violate city ordinance and may result in fines or penalties. These laws are in place to protect public safety, reduce disturbances to residents, and prevent fire hazards.

Additionally, per Ordinance § 91.126, any organized outdoor fireworks displays or pyrotechnics used before a live audience must comply with national safety standards:

* NFPA 1123 for outdoor displays
* NFPA 1126 for indoor or close-proximity effects

Organizers of public fireworks displays must coordinate with the Shelbyville Fire Department to ensure compliance and secure any necessary permits.

We encourage all residents to enjoy the holiday safely, respectfully, and within the law. Please be considerate of neighbors, children, pets, and veterans who may be affected by loud or unexpected fireworks.

State Road 9 and Bassett Road Entrances

As part of our ongoing summer improvement projects, we’re excited to share that the street lights at the State Road 9 and Bassett Road entrances will soon have a fresh new look.

We’ll be transitioning from the current green fixtures to a sleek, timeless black finish — complementing our street signs and enhancing the overall aesthetic of our community.

Painting will begin on Thursday, July 3rd.

Community Waterfalls

Clear Reflection Aquatics, our pond vendor has shut off the pumps to our two large waterfalls.

Ice dams had formed along the concrete areas of the waterfall features. Ice dams can cause water to back up and extend outside the liner, divert water away from the recirculation system, and can also damage the concrete structure of our features.

Even though we have had warmer-than-normal temperatures during this holiday season, Clear Reflections will keep the waterfalls off until spring.

This will allow us to keep our equipment in good working condition and prevent costly repairs.
