Kind Reminder – Pool Umbrellas

We’ve had several evenings recently where the pool umbrellas were left open, including one that remained open during a storm.

This creates safety concerns and can damage the umbrellas. Please be mindful when using the pool area. Close and wrap umbrellas when you’re finished so they stay in good condition for everyone.

If umbrellas continue to be left open, as they were this evening, they will be placed back into storage to prevent damage.

Thank you for helping keep our shared space safe and well‑maintained.

MHP’s Healing Hustle Race – September 19, 2026

The 6th Annual Walk/Run in support of the MHP Wound Center will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the YMCA in Shelbyville. All proceeds from this walk/run will benefit patients who are receiving wound treatment at the wound care center. The funds are used to assist patients with financial limitations with wound dressings and supplies, transportation, medications, nutritional supplements for healing, garments for swelling, and more. By having access to these funds, these patients are able to achieve healing and overall positive outcomes.

Bib pick up and waivers: 8:00 a.m.

 

Race Start: 9:00 a.m.

 

Fun Run: $10.00 registration in advance or day of.

– Includes finisher ribbon

– 1/4 mile for ages 6 and under

– 1/2 mile for ages 7 – 12

– Fun Run is on pavement

Independence Day Information from the Shelbyville Police Department

🎆 KNOW THE LAW BEFORE YOU LIGHT THE FUSE! 🎆

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, the Shelbyville Police Department wants everyone to have a fun, safe, and legal holiday.

🎇 Consumer Fireworks ARE permitted in Shelbyville during the following times:

 

📅 June 29 – July 3 and July 5 – July 9

🕔 5:00 PM until two hours after sunset

 

📅 July 4 (Independence Day)

🕙 10:00 AM until 12:00 Midnight

These dates and times are established by Indiana Code and are adopted by the City of Shelbyville Ordinance (§91.125).

 

🎆 Before You Celebrate:

 

✅ Only use fireworks on your own property or on property where you have permission.

✅ Anyone purchasing consumer fireworks must be 18 years of age or older.

✅ Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby.

✅ Never allow young children to handle fireworks without close adult supervision.

✅ Be courteous to your neighbors, especially veterans, elderly residents, families with young children, and pet owners.

✅ Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

 

🚓 Remember:

Using consumer fireworks outside of the permitted dates and times within the City of Shelbyville may result in enforcement action. Please celebrate responsibly and help us keep our community safe.

Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 New Pool Project

The 2026 pool season will be the last season of the current concrete pool at Trotter Chase.

This pool will be swimmable as is beginning Memorial Day Weekend and will close Labor Day Weekend.

Demolition is planned to begin in September 2026, with work to be completed by McIntire Pools & Landscape.

A new Thursday Pools Aspen fiberglass pool will then be installed. The pool will measure 16′ x 40′, with a depth ranging from 3’4″ in the shallow end to 5’10” in the deep end.

Features of the Aspen design include a 12-inch-deep tanning ledge, non-skid surface, extended bench seating, dual swim-outs, a courtesy ledge around the deep end, a wide-open swim lane, and auto-cover compatibility.

In addition to the new pool, all new equipment will be installed, including a Hayward pump, Hayward salt cell, sand filter, chlorinator, three MicroBrite color-changing lights, pool heater, updated concrete surfaces, an automation system for the pool cover (to help reduce maintenance costs), and an Integra automatic pool cover.

Additional updates will be shared as the project progresses.

Fence Line Power Washing – April 29th

Day by Day will be power washing the fence line along Bassett Road and State Road 9 on or around April 29th.

Power washing will take place during the late afternoon/evening hours and may extend over multiple days all weather permitting.

If you have pets, please be mindful of the activity during this time.

2026 Trotters Chase Annual Meeting – Thursday, March 12th

Please mark your calendars for the Trotters Chase Annual Meeting of the Members, to be held on Thursday, March 12.

The official mailed notice and supporting documents will be sent separately.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for sign-in, and the meeting will be called to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse.

Agenda items will include a review of the 2025 financials, the proposed 2026 budget, elections for the Board of Directors, and discussion regarding the future of the neighborhood pool.

2025 Fall Trial Mows

Next week, October 12 – 18, Strypes (our new full-service landscaping vendor) will start their first trial mow for the grounds.

Please reach out to any TCHOA board member if anything needs to be addressed. Our goal is to get all the trial and error out of the way before spring 2026.

Trotters Chase HOA – New Property Manager Contact

We wanted to provide you with some updates regarding our property management team under Omni Management Services.

Robin Smiley-Brown has recently departed from Omni due to health, family and faith reasons. We are grateful for Robin’s dedication and service to our community and wish her all the best.

We are pleased to introduce Kimi Schowe, who will begin transitioning into the role of our primary property manager starting October 6th.

Kimi brings a wealth of experience to Omni, having served as a Community Association Manager for 12 years and a Senior Community Association Manager for 7 years. Her leadership has included overseeing administrative support staff, mentoring fellow managers, and providing training across multiple teams.

She is known for being solutions-oriented and for her strong communication and organizational skills. Kimi is passionate about supporting board members and fostering positive relationships with homeowners.

Kimi is also actively involved in the Community Association Institute (CAI). She has served on the Legislative Action Committee for the Central Indiana Chapter since 2022, where she monitors state legislation and helps educate lawmakers to protect the interests of HOAs, PUDs, and Condo Associations. Additionally, she contributes to the CAI Central Indiana Chapter’s efforts to promote professional standards, community education, and ethical leadership.

On a personal note, Kimi enjoys spending time with her family—especially her grandson—and loves outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, and kayaking.

We’re excited to welcome Kimi to our community and look forward to the positive impact she will bring.

Trotters Chase: Fiber Optic Internet Survey

Trotters Chase has been approached by mStreet Fiber with a proposal to install fiber optic infrastructure in the neighborhood’s right-of-way easement.

To determine if the investment is viable, they’ve asked us to gauge community interest through a brief survey via Google Forms.

Your response will help us decide whether to move forward with discussions and planning.
